An SDK platform is available for every production Android platform deployable to Android-powered devices. Each platform component includes a fully compliant Android library and system image, sample code, emulator skins, and any version specific tools. For detailed information about each platform, see the overview documents available under the section “Downloadable SDK Components” at left.

Important: Update the SDK tools to revision 20 or later and restart the Android SDK Manager before your download Android 4.1.2 system components.

Android SDK platform come with SHA1. Before extract please check the SHA1 hash to verify originality of the archive file.

I’m assume your have done preparing Android development. After download one of the archive, refer http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/api-levels.html to determine Android API Level for current archive.

For example, if you download Android 2.3.3, API Level is 10. You can manually create

android-10

folder on your Android SDK platform and extract the archive here.

The final structure of your archive:

/your-android-sdk-path/platform/android-10/

Hi Ahmed,

You need to create a folder called system-images in the top level of your SDK directory (next to platforms and tools) and then, create sub-directories android-14 and android-15. Extract the complete armeabi-v7a folder to these directories;

sysimg_armv7a-15_r01.zip goes to android-15, and sysimg_armv7a-14_r02.zip to android-14.

After doing as mentioned in step 17(although i have just downloaded sysimg_armv7a-14_r02.zip), I am still getting error “Unable to find a ‘ userdata.img’ for ABI armeabi to copy into AVD folder”.

I can’t extract or open the android-15_r03.zip, what do I do. When I try to extract it(using winrar), i get the message C:\downloads\android-15_r03.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged. I have downloaded the file several times, but got the same error. And surprisingly all the android related files I download, don’t work. The same is the case with tools_r19-windows.zip and also installer_r18-windows.exe doesn’t execute. I don’t know what is causing the problem. I am sure that my computer is not infected with any virus. Please help.

After download the file, please check SHA1 check-sum to verify before going to extract.

If SHA1 not same, you file maybe corrupt during download. You must download the file again.

Thanks for your response, Hariadi. I used the Checksum Integrity Verifier and got the following message:

I have downloaded this file more than 5 times but I got the same error message. When I try to extract any android related file, I get the same error. I have also downloaded the installer_r18-windows.exe file (more than 3 times) and they did not execute. I am downloading these files using orbit downloader, can that be the problem ? I mean to ask that is it possible that orbit downloader is corrupting the file during download ?

You need Admin permission so go to C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk -> left click on SDK Manager -> Properties -> Compatibility -> mark Run as Administrator -> Apply then try again to install those packs.
